Performing Arts Center

The Bowling Green City Schools Performing Arts Center was constructed in 2009 featuring a 739 seat auditorium. Inside the auditorium features a completely acoustically treated house and deployable acoustic shell on stage and an orchestra pit lift to support a large variety of events and performances. The theater features a number of supporting spaces including a hexagon shaped lobby that supports meetings of up to 100 attendees, a rehearsal room with dance bar and mirrors, and makeup and dressing rooms with the ability to accommodate upwards of 50 performers.

The BGCS PAC hosts a wide range of events from in-house school and drama events to library speakers to national touring dance groups of 700+ performers. We welcome anyone interested in renting the space to please reach out to the PAC Manager for further information.

The Performing Arts Center was awarded LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Performing Arts Center Spaces

Auditorium

The Bowling Green City Schools Performing Arts Center features a large stage with a 52’ wide proscenium opening with a full red grand drape, cyc, and additional fly space. The PAC is ready to host a wide variety of events from speakers and meetings to full scale musicals while providing a unique acoustic dampening system to create the ideal atmosphere for all events. With a recently updated sound and lighting system, new projection system, and as of 2020 a dedicated streaming setup, the Bowling Green Performing Arts Center is ready to provide an up to date venue for your event.

Lobby

In addition to the performance space the PAC Lobby can act as a separate space for a variety of events. The lobby contains an updated presentation system complete with projector and screen, as well as an audio system for music and video playback and up to 3 handheld wireless microphones. A number of setups are available to accommodate your events.

Layout 1

Ideal for most meetings and small banquets. With 9 round tables, 54 seats, and 3-4 rectangular food tables, the lobby remains walkable while providing ample seating and presentation space.

Layout 2

12 rectangular tables with 96 seats plus 2 rectangular food tables offer the most seating for large meetings or banquets. Food may be served out of the concessions area equipped with sink and fridge or via buffet style tables.

Layout 3

An ideal event space for small banquets or receptions. Tall grazing tables mixed with round dining tables allow for guests to mingle amongst themselves without disrupting the flow of traffic. Up to 36 seats.

Additional Spaces

Scene Shop
Attached to the stage, accessible through a full size rolling stage door is the fully equipped scene shop. The scene shop allows for ample storage and prep space for any set elements brought along. The scene shop is ideal for full scale load in’s from pick up trucks to semis with a pneumatic lift available to users.

Dressing Rooms
Just across the hall from the back of the theater stage are dressing rooms with vanity lighting providing the ideal space for performers to get ready. Attached to the makeup room are two locker rooms on either side, with multiple bathroom stalls, lockers, and showers. The entire space is equipped with speakers that act as monitors of onstage activity, which helps eliminate congestion backstage.

Green Room
In the same hall as the dressing rooms, the green room is available for a performer holding area or as a warm-up room. Behind the red curtain a full wall of mirrors sits across from a ballet bar. The space has a sound system which can be used for music playback, as well as acting as monitors of onstage performances.
