Weather conditions may cause schools in the Bowling Green School District to delay their starting time in the morning or close for the day. On days of questionable conditions, the Transportation Director and Superintendent survey road conditions as early as 4:00am. The Superintendent makes the decision to delay or close schools usually between 5:00am and 7:00am.
On a 2-hour delay, there will be:
- no morning Preschool
- a later dismissal for morning Kindergarten (1 hour later than normal)
- a later start time for afternoon Preschool and Kindergarten (1 hour later than normal)
The Superintendent or other school official will activate the district's call system to notify parents of delays and/or closings on the student's home phone. Calls will be received as early as 6:00am and Caller ID should display the school's phone number.
In the event of a missed call or technical problems on the call system or on the student's phone, please access the traditional media cources listed below.
