Homework Procedure Minimize

The students have received instruction on how to complete homework assignments.  Those instructions are repeated below.

    1.    All homework assignments will be written on the assignment board each day.  These assignments will be reviewed at the end of the day as a part of the preparation for dismissal.  Students will write the homework into their assignment pads.  These assignments will include when they are due.

    2.    Students will need to complete the assignments by the due date.  They may have had extra class time to complete assignments at school.  This is a wise use of time and it is encouraged.

    3.    Homework that the students have had difficulty with should have a short parent note attached to the assignment.  This is especially important if the parent has had to provide a great deal of assistance.  This will help the teacher know that reinforcement is needed.

    4.    Students that do not have homework assignments completed will receive a "Missing Assignment Slip" (MAS).  This slip will be filled out by the student, and then signed by a parent.  It will be returned to the teacher the next school day.

    5.    If the student does not return the missing assignment and the MAS with a parent signature, she/he will serve a lunch detention.

    6.    Lunch detentions will continue each following school day until the missing assignment is completed and turned into the teacher.

    7.    Any assignments still missing after the one day "grace period", will receive a zero in the grade book for that assignment.
