Science 9
Science 9 is designed to be a physical science course. The first semester provides students with an introduction to physics by covering concepts such as motion, change in motion, forces, energy, waves and electricity. The second semester introduces students to the basic principles of chemistry such as classification of matter, atomic structure, chemical bonding, and reactions. Science 9 is a lab-based course; therefore student attendance is a key component of class success.

Chemistry
You and everything around you involves chemistry in one way or another. You are made from chemicals, and you use chemicals everyday. This course will provide you with an introduction to chemistry. We will go over concepts such as the nature of matter, atomic models and the history of those models, chemical bonding and reactions, and gas laws. There is a lot of math involved in chemistry. Chemistry is an active course that requires student involvement and scientific thinking. You can't take a "free ride" through chemistry.
