Web Design I

Prerequisite : Publisher and Presentation classes

FrontPage and Dreamweaver

The major theme of this course is the design and development process necessary to create a web page that effectively communicates an intended message to various target audiences. Students will learn to create basic web pages using FrontPage and Dreamweaver software. Some basic HTML will be used. Due to the nature of the class and its projects students must be able to work in a team and project-based environment.

Presentation and Publishing Tools

Prerequisite:  None

 

Students will learn about digital presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop. Technical content will include manipulation and preparation of image, sound, and video, digital photography, advanced PowerPoint skills, exporting presentations, and presentation devices. Design elements, message, environment, and presentations delivery will also be a major focus in learning to effectively communicate to various target audiences.

Students will learn to use tools associated with print media, including, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Photoshop. The content will include traditional word processing, desktop publishing, basic graphics, and electronic document publishing.  Students will use design,  development and problem-solving skills to find solutions to real-like situations. Due to the nature of the class and its projects students must be able to work in a team and project-based environment.
